Bird watching
is great from the trails for serious birders or from the deck
for the less ambitious. Binoculars are available. Several
feeding stations and numerous hummingbird feeders are visible
from the dining room and living room. Although be careful
on the deck for the Hummingbirds come in like dive-bombers,
if you sit still to long. Hummingbirds arrive mid-April and
are gone again the end of September. Bald Eagles can
be spotted from late October until late February. Elusive
whip-poor-wills serenade on spring evenings. Summer
sunsets trigger the night critters to come alive. Spring and
summer plants also attract a variety of Butterflies.
You know spring has sprung at Raspberry
Manor with the bunny time trials in the driveway. They come
yearly and pull more bunnies each time. The time trials are
the bunnies racing the incoming cars to get ready for Easter
Eve. Don't worry they have yet to lose any to hitting a wall
or any close encounters with the real car kind.
Other wildlife such as squirrels, chipmunks,
turtles, deer and roadrunners all have homes on the property.
